Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed data entry and ensure accuracy while transferring financial information between systems. • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions. • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. • Assist in month-end close procedures, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accounting standards. • Utilize Costpoint by Deltek to manage accounting tasks effectively. • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures. • Collaborate with other departments to support financial reporting and compliance requirements. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Proficiency in managing general ledger and journal entries. • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and month-end close procedures. • Familiarity with Costpoint by Deltek or similar accounting software. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures. • Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
