Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Dearborn, Michigan. In this role, you will manage key financial operations, including account reconciliations, financial reporting, and client correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, provide financial insights, and contribute to improving processes and efficiency. Responsibilities: • Oversee daily accounting operations for clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, reconciliations, and necessary adjustments. • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by the team. • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure compliance with accounting principles. • Prepare and analyze financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. • Collaborate with clients on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. • Identify financial trends and variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders. • Manage the preparation and review of business tax returns to ensure adherence to regulatory standards. • Address client questions and concerns, delivering financial advice and proactive support. • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement efficiency improvements. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping or accounting within public, corporate, or private sectors. • Comprehensive understanding of intermediate accounting principles and financial practices. • Proficiency in accounting software tools, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word. • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience is strongly preferred. • Familiarity with software such as Thomson Reuters Accounting, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Desktop. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
