AdventHealth Minneola's 80-bed hospital will bring inpatient care to the growing population of South Lake County. Spanning approximately 204,000 square feet, the hospital will include an emergency department; full-service imaging; five operating suites; endoscopy services; outpatient laboratory; heart catheterization labs; critical care and general medical/surgical rooms. The role you’ll contribute:

The Manager Sterile Processing is responsible for the personnel, financial and operational activities for the Sterile Processing Department. Responsible for the educational and orientation needs of the Sterile Processing Department. Collaborates with Surgery leadership and staff to ensure instrumentation needs are met daily. Acts as a liaison between Central Services and other hospital departments to ensure availability of instrumentation and equipment as needed for patient care on inpatient units. Completes interviews, staff evaluations, and manages the disciplinary process for staff. Ensures staffing patterns and monthly schedules meet department needs and are in line with labor tracking standards. Responsible for performance improvement activities in the department, development of action plans, and follow-up; participates in system wide committees related to sterilization, decontamination, and disinfection; and is knowledgeable about regulatory standards and national society standards related to sterile processing. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

Plan, implement and manage policies, procedures, competencies, educational activities and quality assurance programs related to the acquisitions, decontamination, storage, and sterilization of reusable surgical instrumentation and other medical equipment utilized in the delivery of patient care and treatment to ensure compliance with administrative and regulatory standards within the healthcare facility.

Maintain record keeping systems for activities such as processing of instruments and equipment, specifications for instruments, assembled trays, quality assurance, case carts and materials output to provide information on departmental activities.

Provide consultation to supervisors in resolution of complex administrative issues. Provide leadership and oversight to supervisors, coordinators and technicians to ensure high level of customer satisfaction and fiscal responsibilities. Serves as a resource to the surgical services team and healthcare facility systems committees, regarding sterilization process, procedures and assists in changes as needed.

Establish and maintain liaison with Operating Room associates, physicians, surgeons, nurses and other professional associates to provide consultation on product specifications and to advise availability of materials for specific patient care and/or treatment procedures.

Maintain liaison with representatives of local, regional and national sterile processing providers as well as regulatory agencies to establish a resource for current trends and regulations within the service.

Review and improve standards on an on-going basis. Serve on intra- and inter-departmental committees related to organizational objectives. Seek opportunities to promote the vision, mission and value of the organization by serving in leadership positions on committees.

Provide leadership support to system hospitals; serve as a resource to enhance customer satisfaction, achieve optimal utilization and reduce costs. Assist in the evaluation of new products and patient equipment through membership on various committees.

Establish and maintain sterilization, safety and security standards, policies and procedures for Sterile Processing to ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, EPA, FDA, Joint Commission and state and local regulations.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications :

Associate In Nursing

Bachelor's In Nursing

Bachelor's Healthcare related field

Diploma in Nursing Required

Associate In Surgical Technology

6 Proven sterile processing experience in a hospital setting

CCST - Certified Central Service Technician from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)

CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech

RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure

LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure

Preferred qualifications:

CHL - Certified Healthcare Leader CS Management (HSPA)

CSPM - Certified in Sterile Processing Management CS Management (CBSPD)
