Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician performs routine work in the decontamination, assembly, testing, and instruments in a medical facility, under the supervision of the Supervisor of Sterile Processing.

This is the first level of a three-level series.  It is distinguished from the higher levels by the absence of responsibility for performing advanced and complicated sterilization, assembly and testing of medical equipment, supplies and instruments.  Employees in this level may be in training to perform Sterile Processing Technician II duties.

Preferred qualifications:

Coursework/Training and Vocational training in sterile processingUpon hire: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA) upon hire or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD) Related experience working in a hospital, clinic, or medical lab
