Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Substation Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of physical substations. The successful candidate will ensure that all designs meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including engineering, project management, and construction, to deliver high-quality substation designs. Additionally, the engineer will support Distributed Energy Resource Projects by modifying substations to handle the increased load from alternative energy sources.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development: Create detailed physical designs for substations, including layout drawings, equipment specifications, and material lists.Technical Analysis: Perform technical analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and reliability of substation designs.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks on designs and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into substation designs.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in substation design or a similar role.Proficiency in CAD software, electrical design tools, and relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform complex calculations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.High level of attention to detail and accuracy in design work.Additional Skills & QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.Work Environment
This is a remote work position.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
