TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: A work history demonstrating dependability and reliability; good driving record; equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. LICENSE/CERTIFICATE: Possession of a valid California Driver's License, Class B, a California School Bus Driver's Certificate, accompanied by a current medical certificate; and the ability to qualify for District vehicle insurance coverage. There is a written general proficiency test for this classification, which is given on Wednesday, promptly at 9 a.m., in the Human Resources Department at our District Office located at 321 N. Iowa Street, Fallbrook, CA 92028. YOU CANNOT BE CONSIDERED IF TESTING IS NOT COMPLETED BEFORE THE POSTING DEADLINE. Under direction, to safely drive a school bus or transportation vehicle over an assigned route in the transportation of students, including to and from school, field trips, athletic activities and other special trips; to apply safe driving principles in vehicle operation; to maintain buses in a clean and safe condition; and to do related work as required. Fallbrook Union Elementary School District is a K-8 district. We share the yard with the high school bus service. We transport 2,500 home to schools, mid-day, and therapy runs. The fleet consists of 30 buses, 2 cars and 3 van routes. We encompass the town of Fallbrook and two schools on the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. It is the policy of this District that employment will be offered to the successful candidate contingent upon satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol-screening test and fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and FBI and a current verification of a negative T.B. test or chest x-ray. It is the fundamental policy of the Fallbrook Union Elementary school District to provide a positive work environment where employees and job applicants are assured of equal access and opportunities and are free from harassment in accordance with law.
