What you’ll do:
Provides technical assistance, under the direct supervision of the surgeon to assist in carrying out an operation with optimal results for the patient. Clinical skills performed will include positioning the patient, preparing the skin and providing visualization of the operative site. Assists with hemostasis, closure of body planes and selection and application of dressings and splints The Surgical Assistant supports the surgeon and surgical team by ensuring optimal exposure, visualization, and efficiency throughout surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include patient positioning, prepping, draping, maintaining a clear operative field, and assisting in hemostasis and wound closure.
Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping to ensure proper surgical exposureInsert foley catheters and operate positioning equipmentProvide retraction and suction to maintain a clear surgical fieldManage hemostasis by applying cautery, sponging, and using hemoclipsAssist with suturing, knot tying, and tissue approximationSupport the surgeon with closure of incisions, dressing application, and applying splints or plaster castsAnticipate surgical needs and respond quickly and effectively to the surgeon’s directionWe offer our Surgical Assistants:

Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education Preferred: Associates Degree

Pay Range: $67,080 - $113,048 per year
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
