The Red Hat Labs and Data Center team is looking for an Intern to join us in Tel Aviv, Israel.
This team maintains the overall technical lab environment, crucial for the successful operation of the engineering teams throughout Red Hat. In this role, you'll help our team ensure the continuous operation of the RH Data Center, respond promptly to the dynamic requirements of the testing teams, and ensure rapid response to any system failures. This is an opportunity to work with a successful Global Lab team to help architect, deploy and support the applications and lab infrastructure that allows our Engineering Division to produce world-class Open Source software.
The ideal candidate should have an understanding and passion for a variety of hardware platforms and architectures, maintaining the systems and services and be a server hardware enthusiast.
Job Responsibilities:
Rack, install, and record server systems; reconfigure the hardware to facilitate quality testing of system configurations
Collect, interpret, and document the details of common and persistent issues experienced within the lab environment
Simple network configuration (DNS, DHCP, switch configuration)
Troubleshoot technical issues
Respond to engineering requests through a ticketing system
Coordinating with system administrators on projects and lab expansions
Review procedures and documentation to identify inefficiencies and potential changes that could significantly improve overall lab operation
Required Skills:
Prior experience in computer operations, system administration, or a closely related area.
Some familiarity with Linux-based operating systems is preferred
Experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems (RHCSA preferred) is a plus
Ability to lift, carry, squat, and bend; must be able to lift up heavy equipment
Motivated to learn new skills and troubleshooting techniques
Good work ethic and an ability to learn and quickly grasp technical concepts (there will, however, be people on hand for guidance)
Good interpersonal communication skills and capable of explaining simple procedures both verbally and in writing
Detail oriented and thorough when following procedures, as well as able to follow verbal and written instructions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in Israel during the whole duration of the internship and eligible to begin a full-time role in 2026 or 2027
Must be available for the internship from August 2025 till July 2026
