Work you’ll do
As a Tax Manager within Deloitte’s National Tax Controversy Services Interest Analyzer practice, you will be part of an experienced team of professionals committed to assisting clients with federal interest matters, resolving clients’ federal tax controversies, and providing clients with in-depth knowledge of IRS practice and procedure. Deloitte’s National Tax Controversy Services professionals work to resolve a wide variety of issues with the IRS and are well-versed in achieving the best possible outcomes on behalf of Deloitte’s clients.
Responsibilities will include:
Prepare federal interest computations for varying purposes including financial statement reporting, tax planning, Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) and litigation settlement, interest reviews, and IRS refund claims.Assist clients and Deloitte engagement teams with federal interest and IRS account related matters.Prepare written correspondence to the IRS and Deloitte engagement teams regarding federal interest and IRS account related matters.Communicate with the IRS on behalf of clients to resolve federal interest and IRS account related matters.The Team

Qualifications Required:
10+ years of federal interest computation experience10+ years of IRS account transcript research and comprehension experienceIRS, Treasury, Big 4 / large / boutique accounting firm, law firm, or relevant industry experienceKnowledge of TaxInterest Netting software or other comparable interest softwareOne of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.If not CPA eligible, one of the other designations listed below based on role requirements and business approval:Licensed attorneyEnrolled AgentProject Management Professional (PMP)Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)A federal interest subject matter expertProven ability to grow and manage a book of businessAbility to balance multiple assignments and other responsibilities while meeting prescribed deadlinesProfessional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oralExcellent research and writing skillsAbility to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per weekAbility to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveQualifications Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fieldAdvanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLMKnowledge of Bloomberg Tax & Accounting Corporate Tax Analyzer softwareA multi-year federal tax computation subject matter expertThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $98,350 to $223,990
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
