Job Title: S/4HANA Technical Architect

Job Summary Our client is launching a significant and strategic business transformation program through the implementation of SAP S/4HANA on RISE. The S/4HANA Technical Architect is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing all technical activities within the program. This role demands a strong understanding of multiple SAP functional modules and the ability to translate complex functional requirements into clear, technical solutions. Key focus areas include (but are not limited to) SAP Cloud Platform/BTP, WRICEF, ABAP, Fiori/UI5, custom CDS, AMDP, BADIs, BAPIs, SAP HANA modelling, NetWeaver Gateway, OData services, APIs, and interfaces. The technical architect will shape the SAP architectural design, ensuring technical quality assurance across SAP projects throughout the program lifecycle.

Reporting to the S/4HANA Program Lead, this role acts as a key liaison between: The S/4HANA project team Functional and technical members of the Systems Implementation team The existing SAP ECC team Global SAP Support teams (in-house and partner-delivered services) Key responsibilities include Maintaining a holistic technical view to ensure the overall solution design aligns with SAP standards Proactively managing all technical activities to meet S/4HANA requirements, including integration with third-party systems Managing relationships with functional solution specialists, SI partner architects and developers, BASIS, GRC, and authorization teams Leading problem-solving across complex customer requirements The role also involves setting and maintaining technical standards and best practices across deliverables while actively supporting BASIS tasks, authorizations, and development enhancements.

Responsibilities Analyze functional requirements, conduct research, and define technical architecture that meets complex objectives. Translate complex SAP functional requirements into practical technical solutions. Support the program lead and functional integration architect in selecting suitable SAP products and technologies for development. Design and deliver SAP architectural frameworks aligned with enterprise-level technology standards. Estimate and evaluate costs for SAP technical deliverables, including migrations, upgrades, implementations, and training. Define high-level technical designs and system landscapes, including relevant Bills of Materials (BOM). Coordinate across architects, team leads, SAP solution specialists, and partners to fulfill customization requirements. Manage SAP technical requirements, including reviewing and creating code and developing technical documentation. Ensure WRICEF developments are aligned with standard SAP practices as closely as possible. Review and approve all technical deliverables from SI partners and third-party vendors. Provide technical leadership for integrations between SAP and legacy systems, identifying risks and mitigation plans. Act as a subject matter expert across development, upgrades, and maintenance of WRICEF objects in ABAP, Fiori, BTP/SCP, SAP Analytics, and authorization management in the S/4HANA Cloud environment. Engage hands-on in the development and debugging of ABAP (WRICEF), Fiori/UI5, OOABAP, IDOC, and ODATA, with working knowledge of SAP modules such as FICO, MM, PS, PM, QM, and EWM. Lead integration efforts using CPI adapters like ODATA, SFTP, FTP, IDOC, RFC/BAPI, SOAP, HTTP, REST, JDBC, and XI Proxy. Coordinate cutover and go-live activities across all streams. Assess the impact of SAP release updates and define adaptation strategies for S/4HANA Public Cloud environments. Support incident resolution, request fulfillment, configuration changes, and documentation/training related to system changes. Recommend improvements, automation, and performance tuning across multiple processes. Identify and deliver short- and long-term solutions to enhance overall effectiveness. Maintain relevant technical certifications and continuously enhance professional knowledge through workshops, publications, forums, and seminars.
Qualifications & Experience Required

Education University degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education/experience Experience 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP, including at least 5 years in S/4HANA Strong SAP architecture design and best practices knowledge SAP delivery, implementation, and cloud migration experience (SAP Cloud Platform, BTP, SAP Datasphere) Strong understanding of application development methodologies (preferably in onsite-offshore models) Expertise in WRICEF, ABAP, custom CDS, AMDP, BADIs, BAPIs, SAP HANA modelling, OData services, APIs Experience with data migration cockpit in S/4HANA Proficiency in WSDL, JSON, XML, XSD, Webservices, REST, SFTP, JavaScript, XSLT Strong communication skills, able to convey complex technical ideas and influence stakeholders Self-disciplined with the ability to manage multiple assignments Experience with SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) / ALM, and managing transports across SAP landscapes Expertise in cloud architectures: on-premise, private cloud, and public cloud
