Job Title: Automotive Technician

Job Description

We are hiring a technician for an automotive manufacturer. You will be a part of a team in support of the building of prototype vehicles. If you have strong mechanical skills in building, diagnosis, and troubleshooting, and you have a passion for cutting-edge vehicle technology, this job is for you. To be considered for this position you must have professional experience as a Mechanical or Automotive Technician. Reading blueprints/schematics, using a variety of mechanical tools, and building some sort of complex product or equipment is required.

ResponsibilitiesBuild up of vehicle chassis/cabBuild up of vehicle front end boxSupport vehicle updates, maintenance, and repairsCreate and update documentation related to build, updates, or repairsVehicle mechanical commissioningSupport of vehicle shakedownRead and interpret installation diagrams and update documentationInstall high voltage cables on the vehicles according to routing and clipping guidelinesInstall low voltage cables and wires on the vehicles according to routing and clipping guidelinesAssist commissioners and verify all connections made in the high voltage system are properly connectedCommunicate with engineering and shop management teams as requiredDocument issues and support issue finding related to buildTroubleshoot and replace high voltage components as updated parts are availableInstallation per Bills of Material per guidelinesInventory bulk items per current shop practicesOperate forklifts, cranes, manlifts, vehicle lifts, and machine tools as needed for assembly or prototyping purposesBecome proficient in basic computer program applications, timecards, CAD/DMU, Spec compare toolsParticipate and pass all relevant trainingEssential SkillsProfessional experience as a Mechanical or Automotive TechnicianStrong mechanical skills in building, diagnosis, and troubleshootingExperience in mechanical assembly, reassembly, and vehicle builds within the automotive industryAbility to read and interpret blueprints/schematicsExperience using a variety of mechanical toolsAutonomous worker with a proactive mindsetAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with diesel enginesExperience with electrical systemsProficiency in using hand toolsExperience with cabling and installationExperience with truck assemblyKnowledge of axle, suspension, and cab systemsWork Environment

This is an onsite position, Monday through Friday. You will be working within a team-oriented environment that values good attitudes and a growth mindset. You will be involved in building a prototype electrified truck fleet, contributing to an exciting and innovative project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
