Job Description:

This position is primarily responsible for providing design support to engineers for transportation and drainage projects. 

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare plans, profiles and detail drawings using MicroStation and OpenRoadsDevelop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawingsUnderstand and use established company standards for drafting, including layer names, line and character styles, and drawing and filenames for sheet layoutAnalyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervisionApply knowledge of roadway design requirements to continuously advance ability to provide supportCommunicate effectively with project manager(s) about progress on assigned projects Maintain organized work area to allow access to project information by other team membersBe flexible working on multiple assignments with several teams simultaneously

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED2-years' experience in Civil DesignPost-high school training in any form of Computer-Aided drafting and designAptitude for and interest in computer technologies in the creation of roadways and other types of physical infrastructureEffective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with colleaguesHighly motivated self-starter with initiative to learnAbility to work independently within a team environmentMust be able to operate a company vehicleMust be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with overtime as neededOccasional travel will be required
