Job Description

The Infrastructure Consultant I is responsible for Mainframe Console & Batch monitoring and alerting solutions, selection and implementation by supporting resolution efforts, metrics creation and reporting, applications integration and problem management. The role prioritizes and responds to inquiries by helpdesk, specialists and others, as well as maintains governance documentation, implements major configuration changes, and supports infrastructure-related communications and training.

 Job Qualifications
·         0-4 years of business and/or IT related experience including process analysis skills.
·         Hands on experience in production operations environment, batch scheduling and monitoring in mainframe systems environment.
·         Demonstrated proficiency in operational support and associated tools such as ESP, UAC(Stonebranch), Netview.
·         Hands on experience on Request Management tools like HP Service now
·         Applies knowledge of computer applications such as Excel, Business Objects, PowerPoint, etc
·         Applies general knowledge of Mainframe Systems, Console & batch monitoring, JCL, VSAM, CICS/DB2/IMS, Mainframe IPL & knowledge about windows & unix servers.
·         Gaining general knowledge of business area's processes including best practices in order to support the area's projects, products and services.
·         Effective communication in working with others in everyday situations; ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers which results in enhanced teamwork and the sharing of knowledge.
·         Applies ability to leverage learned technical skills in support of team objectives
·         Applies problem solving skills to continuously improve business outcomes
·         Demonstrate and foster a sense of urgency, strong commitment, and accountability while making sound decisions and achieving goals.
 
Key Responsibilities
As a direct contributor to the Production Control team’s processes, the Production Control Analyst (PCA) key responsibilities include: 
·         Work with others to plan, low to moderate complexity system maintenance and installation work.
·         Manage, prioritize, and respond to low to moderate complexity inquiries.
·         Implement daily production schedule activities across all platforms.
·         Perform routine, day-to-day procedural activities for low or moderately complex incidents and situations, which may include recovery support to the rest of Operations.
·         Collect operational data and create/maintain operational, compliance, regulatory, and control documentation.
·         Fulfill standard work requests (e.g. job scheduling requests of low to moderate complexity).
·         Identify and rectify the basic operational exceptions and error conditions. Manage the diagnosis and resolution of low to moderate complexity events or incidents. Make changes and recommendations for improvement, when appropriate.
·         Conduct investigations into low to moderate complexity operational problems and make proposals for improvement and automation.
·         Initiate documenting detailed operational procedures with appropriate technical input.
·         Works under general direction, guided by assignment objectives and follows protocol using the following:
o    Proactive monitoring and management of batch processing utilizing ESP, Netview, UAC (Stonebranch)
o    Request Management - Service Now
o    Incident Management – Abort resolution/escalation utilizing Service Now

• Use subject matter expertise to work with less experienced employees to anticipate and prevent potential problems

• Demonstrate problem management skills for handling major incidents and perform trending and analysis on incident data to identify potential problems.

• Applies strong understanding of industry best practices to design complex process and solution aligning to meet business goals and strategy.

• Completes high complexity tasks to create, revise, implement automation solutions for Infrastructure monitoring and alerting, including requirements definition, scripting/programming, and testing

• Provide focus and rigor around high availability incidents (e.g. incidents with Agency Citrix Application and CTS Next Gen), driving the incidents which are user impacting, high profile and/or multi-application (e.g. Business Objects and SAP) through to resolution, while communicating the status (outages and returns to service) to leadership.

• Develop and maintain partnership with senior technician/analyst and leadership outside Infrastructure group. Serve as a liaison for gathering technical requirements to onboard new applications.

Education

• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)

Experience

• 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job does not have supervisory duties.

Education & Experience (in lieu)

• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
