\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our acute care team at Baylor Scott and White The Heart Hospital Plano. This role involves evaluating and treating patients recovering from cardiac surgeries, heart failure and other cardiovascular conditions to improve their functional independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care and a passion for working with patients recovering from complex medical conditions.

\nThe Occupational Therapist 1 plans, organizes, and provides services in therapeutic programs. Clinical practice includes evaluation and therapy planning to help rehabilitate individuals with disabilities. Works closely with patients and families to meet treatment goals.
\nEssential Functions of the Role
\n\nEvaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.\nPerforms thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately.\nCommunicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family, and staff.\nSupervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.\nAdvances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.\nImparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national and state regulatory guidelines.\nMaintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.\n\nKey Success Factors
\n\nMust possess problem-solving skills at a level necessary to accomplish the job.\nMust have good communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Master's or Bachelor's plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualificationEXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of ExperienceCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -Occupational Therapist (OT)
Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
