Treasury Manager, Strategy and Markets
Description Amazon seeks a Treasury Manager to join the Treasury Strategy and Markets Team, which oversees global foreign exchange trading, fixed income investment portfolio, financial exposure management, and capital markets transactions. The primary responsibilities for this position will focus on financial exposure management and executing strategic transactions that actively shape our risk profile and drive financial performance. While collaborating with cross-functional partners both within Treasury and with the broad and diverse set of Amazon business lines, you'll play a key role in architecting hedging strategies, developing robust risk management programs, and implementing innovative financial systems that support sustainable value creation. The successful candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple competing priorities and will be required to work closely with banking counterparties to establish new and develop existing relationships. This position requires a self-starter who will work to continuously improve Treasury processes while maintaining a rigorous control environment and compliance with various Amazon policies. Key job responsibilities · Thinking long-term and balancing diverse stakeholder needs, to deliver outcomes that earn trust. · Communicating your ideas and vision through well researched documents. · Navigating complexity and creating actionable goals from big-picture objectives. · Actively seeking to uncover operational and financial risks embedded in various business lines that could affect profitability or be detrimental to business continuity. · Developing and managing detailed risk analytics related to foreign exchange and commodities including Monte Carlo simulations and VaR analytics. · Designing and building risk monitoring frameworks, systems, and reporting dashboards that present risks, and mitigation plans or alternatives in a clear manner. · Working to implement and expand Treasury’s risk management and reporting platform. · Execute trades as required to manage financial positions across asset classes. · Work extensively with internal groups including Accounting, Legal, and Tax on new Treasury initiatives and customer facing process improvements. · Work with banking partners to develop and enhance processes. Basic Qualifications - 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science) Preferred Qualifications - 6+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience - Experience with Corporate Treasury - Familiarity with foreign exchange concepts - Knowledge of hedging strategies - An MBA or MS in Finance, Economics or a related field or a CFA certification - Analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently to drive implementation of small and large-scale process improvements - Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in an energetic, fast paced environment - Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills - Working knowledge of Bloomberg Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
