Job Title: Utility Inspector
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Utility Inspector to oversee the replacement of lead service lines with copper ones. This role involves inspecting water mains and other structures to ensure safety, compliance, and structural soundness. The inspector will document inspection results, monitor project progress, and oversee construction-related services.

ResponsibilitiesInspect water mains and structures like roads, dams, and bridges for safety and compliance.Document inspection results, including structural conditions and deficiencies.Monitor project progress and contribute to construction and project status reports.Oversee and coordinate construction services on projects.Conduct on-site investigations and review relevant data such as maps, reports, and tests.Comply with guidelines and regulations, including safety permits and technical documentation.Essential SkillsOSHA 10 certificationStrong communication skills for client interactionsBilingual in SpanishAt least 1 year of construction experienceBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringAdditional Skills & QualificationsDemonstrates technical proficiency and design application knowledgeUnderstanding of construction processes for large projectsStrong organizational and prioritization skillsExcellent attention to detailFamiliarity with computers, tablets, and mobile devicesStrong writing and oral communication skillsGood interpersonal skills to build relationshipsWork Environment

The role involves canvassing and surveying areas with a mobile app on a tablet. Inspections of pipes and photo documentation are required. Work sites include Scotch Plains/Middlesex and Middletown NJ. The position requires a vehicle with mileage reimbursement and offers opportunities for overtime pay. Standard working hours are from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Benefits include an employee discount program, 401k, and medical/dental/vision insurance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
