DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES:
The VP, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a crucial role in shaping and executing financial strategies to support the organization's mission of delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medical research, and educating future healthcare professionalsThe CFO will have financial responsibilities for assigned Emory Healthcare operating unit(s) and directly report to the EHC CFO with a dotted line to divisional PresidentsFinancial Leadership:
Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the organization's executive team and key stakeholdersOversee all aspects of financial management for assigned operating unit in partnership with VP of FP&A, Corporate Controller, and peer CFOsDevelop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with regulatory requirements in partnership with the Corporate ControllerPerforms all other management responsibilities as defined by the EHC CFO and CEOStrategic Planning:
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and long-term goalsEvaluate and recommend strategic financial initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, revenue growth, and cost managementWorks with appropriate operating unit team members regarding length of stay and related care coordination metricsWorks closely with the EHC Supply Chain and Procurement providing local support for the operating unit's materials management departmentResponsible for review and approval of specific contracts in accordance with established policies and proceduresWorks closely with the EHC VP of Revenue Cycle to monitor the revenue cycle activities of the Hospital, including patient registration, precertification, coding, clinical documentation integrity, billing, cash collections, and denialsFinancial Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement in partnership with Financial Planning and Analytics teamPrepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholdersResponsible for the direction and submission of financial data reports required by government and regulatory agencies, including state surveys and third-party payor cost and reimbursement reportsRisk Management:
Identify and assess financial risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate potential issuesStay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address financial challengesTeam Leadership:
Provide effective leadership to the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementMentor and develop finance professionals, ensuring a high level of competence and commitmentCompliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standardsCollaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate timely and successful auditsMinimum Qualifications:
