The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing. **Role Description:** The Air Transportation Specialist is a key member of the aviation operations team supporting a substantial airfield operation for the U.S. Department of State, DoS and Bureau of Diplomatic Security, DS under the oversight of the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Office of Aviation, INLA. The Air Transportation Specialist is responsible for orchestrating complex air transportation operations and activities. Daily tasks are to manage the overall verification of efficient planning, scheduling, and processing of loading and unloading of passengers, cargo, baggage on military and commercial-contract aircraft as well as Medical Evacuations. **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform key Air Terminal Operations Center, ATOC functions, including Information Controller-Dispatcher, Ramp Coordinator, and Prior Permission Request, PPR Desk, managing Mission on Ground, MOG limitations and Embassy Air operations. + Track, log, and communicate all inbound and outbound aircraft activity. passenger, cargo, and parking slot data to all relevant sections to ensure operational transparency. + Oversee hazardous materials handling in accordance with airfield safety protocols, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and the Airfield Procedures Guide, APG. + Verify and document all passenger and cargo movements to ensure compliance with host nation, + Department of Defense, DoD, and Department of State, DoS policies and regulatory guidance. + Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to delayed aircraft, cargo discrepancies, or personnel movements. + Serve as the primary liaison between Government of Iraq, GOI officials and DoD-DoS customers, facilitating customs and immigration coordination. + Ensure compliance with all operational standards set forth by DoD, DoS, FAA, Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, ICAA, and host nation entities. + Coordinate and monitor ramp operations, including aircraft movement via Very High Frequency, VHF, maintenance, cargo inspections, passenger and cargo handling, distinguished visitor, DV movements, MEDEVAC missions, and dignified transfers. + Enforce airfield safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs, taking immediate corrective action to maintain safe and efficient operations. + Act as the 24-7 information and communications hub for all WASS and airfield-related activity. + Monitor and manage aircraft parking ramp activities, ensuring safety compliance and initiating corrective action when necessary. + Coordinate APACS and ICAA-Dip Note clearance processes for international aircraft, ensuring all requirements are met prior to PPR issuance. + Maintain secure communications via DoD NIPRNet-SIPRNet for U.S. aircraft transiting through the airfield. Perform shift work, including overnight. + Deploy and operate under austere conditions as required. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: **Basic Qualifications** **:** + Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience in aviation. + 6 years of experience in an Installation and Mission Support Center, US Air Force 2T2X1 Air Force Specialty Code, AFSC or commercial customer service experience in airline booking, scheduling, or operational position. + Demonstrated performance and other related operations experience may be considered and or substituted. + Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations. + Maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance and a valid US passport. **Preferred** + Prior experience as Air Transportation airman, 2T2X1 AFSC. Military service. + Air Transportation Information Systems, ATIS. Emergency Management, EM Program. + Military Operations Planning and Execution.
