Role Description:

The Senior Flight Operations Planner Lead is a key member of the aviation operations team supporting global mission planning efforts for the U.S. Department of State, DoS and Bureau of Diplomatic Security, DS under the oversight of the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Office of Aviation INL-A. Responsible for managing assigned Senior Flight Operations Planners while ensuring the coordination of all aspects of flight bookings, VIP mission planning, cargo requests, and customer service support. The Senior Flight Operations Planner Lead will ensure the coordination and integration of the Worldwide Aviation Support Services, WASS mission schedule as well as serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries from WASS AAR functional managers, INL-A officials, DoS senior leadership, and other authorized contractors and vendors, ensuring seamless communication and operational execution in the chancery at the Baghdad

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and ensure passengers receive correct flight reservations, and accurate information on flight schedules, fares, and policies. Ensure all customer interactions are handled with professionalism, courtesy, and tact. Provide continuous assistance to customers and passengers throughout their journey, especially during disruptions such as delays or cancellations. Verify and ensure detailed and accurate records of reservations, payments, and customer interactions are kept. Answer questions related to travel itineraries, baggage policies, cargo processes, and other services that the Flight Operations planner and or Senior Flight Operations planner may have. Work with INL-A and AAR management to plan and coordinate flight routes, particularly in support of VIP movements, ensuring all operational requirements are met. Ensure all cargo bookings align with international, federal, and site-specific aviation regulations and protocols. Coordinate cargo bookings for upcoming aircraft schedules.Manage and verify the below aspects of cargo logistics requirements are being conducted. Managing and verifying documentation is in compliance with regulations. Confirming cargo weight, dimensions, and condition through appropriate methods, e.g., scales, visual inspection, documentation review. Assisting customers with shipping details, rates, and applicable regulations. Maintaining accurate and timely records of cargo movement. Verifying HAZMAT is shipped meeting IATA guidelines Review for accuracy and publish Daily Mission Notifications. Audit flight routes before they are created; ensure they are modified if required and entered into FLY-EA-Sky Line Software and GINL MIS. Attend and participate in Mission Meetings to ensure proper planning and execution. Review daily reports for accuracy, send inquiries to the sites for required changes, submit reports in accordance with organizational policies, and complete quality assurance validation checklists. Coordinate support services and follow-up on customer requests to enhance mission performance. Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats, in individual and group settings. Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments. Provide mission updates to the Department of State, DOS and AAR Management as required. Review Collected and processed payment information for flights and associated services. Create, modify, and update yearly shift schedule and ensure operational continuity. Coordinate plans of actions, instruct flight operations planners on performance and timing expectations as dictated by the mission. Create, modify, and update work instructions or applicable checklists and make recommendations for change as required to maintain operational efficiency.Administer the Flight Operations Planner training and qualification program. Deploy and operate under austere conditions as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 10 years of experience in an Air Operations Center, Direct Air Support Center, Base Operations, Command Post or commercial experience in airline booking, scheduling, or operations. Demonstrated performance and other related operations experience may be considered and or substituted. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations. Ability to perform shift work, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Available to deploy and operate in austere conditions as required. Maintain a US Secret security clearance and valid US passport.

Preferred

Airman Certificate Military service Internship with an airline or other commercial operator.

Basic Qualifications:
