ADM is seeking a qualified candidate with a minimum of 5 years working experience, preferably in waste management, to fill the position of Waste Vendor Manager overseeing ADM’s waste vendor management program in the US and Canada. **Position Description:** This position reports to the NA Regional Env Director and requires work to be conducted in both office and industrial facility environments. This position works alongside the ADM Procurement team to help ensure ADM locations are provided with properly vetted, cost-effective and sustainable waste services. This role aims to promote a positive working relationship with off-site waste vendors, reduce waste liability and improve landfill diversion in support of the company’s sustainability initiatives. Candidate must be proactive with the ability to effectively communicate, be an excellent teammate, and have attention to details **Essential Job Functions:** Partner with Procurement and sustainability teams to help secure and maintain compliant, cost-effective and sustainable waste management options. Maintain ADM’s Waste Vendor approval system. + Regularly communicate with site colleagues to assess waste vendor service needs. + Research new vendors to help locate cost-effective and beneficial reuse options. + Support Procurement contract management. + Perform desktop and on-site due diligence reviews of potential and existing waste vendors including site inspections, permits reviews, compliance history. + Ensure adequate follow up and resolution on waste vendor compliance issues/complaints. + Help ensure conformance with current and future company standards + Participate in routine waste vendor status meetings. + Support electronic waste shipments in ADM’s internal environmental software by maintaining up-to-date waste vendor information including disposal method technologies. + Provide periodic training/guidance to employees and contractors related to waste vendor management policies, service quality enhancements, waste management/disposal practices. + Prepare internal waste vendor program reports to update leadership on KPI performance, trends, risks, and issues. + Facilitate the company’s beneficial reuse agreement process. + Stay updated on changes in environmental laws and industry best practices. **Minimum Job Requirements:** + Travel required, up to 30% + Interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external parties on a regular basis. + Auditing background including use of audit checklists and internal reporting a plus. + Strong commitment to safety. Conform with all vendor safety requirements during on-site inspections. + Leadership/management skills including strategic planning + Strong organizational skills and ability to plan priorities effectively + Strong communication skills for coordination, training, reporting and analysis + Experience with Microsoft Office required **Education/Training:** + Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental Science-related field is preferred. **Work Experience:** + 5+ years environmentally related experience, preferably in an industrial or regulatory setting **Experience, including but not limited to, the following aspects of waste vendor management:** + Solid/Hazardous waste + Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding environmental regulations. + Must be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet development.
