Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II - Hochatown, Oklahoma
$23.35 Hourly | Full Time | 8:00am-4:30pm Monday - Friday, Schedule will rotate weekends and may vary due to business needs.
Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for the Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II, you will perform, plan, and organize the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater facilities and associated systems to ensure acceptable asset condition, water quality, and health and safety standards are met. You will report to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor.
Primary Tasks:
1. Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes by observing, collecting, and testing samples and reading instrumentation (SCADA) to ensure compliance.
2. Regularly inspect equipment, tanks, pumps, and valves to ensure proper functioning and identify maintenance needs or repair needs. Develop procedures for completing all routine maintenance to ensure plant operation.
3. Adjust process parameters like flow rates, chemical dosages, and oxygen levels to optimize treatment efficiency and meet regulatory standards.
4. Read and record all data from every metered device within the operation of the plant. Prepare daily readings report.
5. Collect all water samples from the resort and conduct testing to ensure water quality meets acceptable quality standards.
6. Operate and adjust controls on treatment plant equipment and machinery, such as valves, pumps, and motors. Grease and clean plant equipment; read and interpret meters and gauges; regulate plant effluent.
7. Monitor, repair, and maintain wastewater system lift stations; remove debris; disassemble and clean pumps; perform minor repairs. Locate problems and operate sewer cleaning equipment to clear blockages.
8. Perform daily lab testing for the following: MLSS, mixed liquor suspended solids, pH, TSS, total suspended solids, sludge paint filter test, and DO dissolved oxygen. Prepare daily testing reports.
9. You will perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in a wastewater or water treatment plant.
• Class D wastewater certification.
• Ability to work outdoors, lift heavy objects, and perform tasks in confined spaces. Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe and skid steer.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, along with 24-hour on-call availability when assigned.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
