Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Workforce Planning Manager who will work closely with the Business Area Operations leadership team and stakeholder group to optimize resource allocation and deliver capability growth in alignment with business ambitions. This role requires building strong relationships with senior business leaders to understand the business needs and ensure resource planning aligns with stakeholder management, business partnering, resource optimization, and intelligence reporting.
The Workforce Planning Manager will collaborate with the GBA Mobility Workforce Planning Director to consolidate country-level workforce planning information and implement globally consistent workforce planning practices. They will lead efforts to ensure the "right people are in the right place at the right time" to deliver both short- and long-term business plans and strategies, balancing financial targets, People First decisions, and Client experience.
This role includes long-term planning (6 months to 2 years) for appropriate capability resource requirements as part of a holistic workforce management strategy, encompassing Resource Management, Global Excellence Centers (GEC), Contingent Workforce, and Recruitment. The Workforce Planning Manager will support the Strategic Workforce Planning vision of resource agility, bringing benefits to clients, the business, and employees. Additionally, the role requires using a data-driven approach to forecasting and business intelligence to inform planning and decision-making.
Role accountabilities:
Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering
The Workforce Planning Manager will foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the business to build an understanding of both short-term and long-term business needs. Key stakeholders include the Operations Director, GBA Mobility Workforce Planning Director, other Workforce Planning Managers, Business Unit Directors and Leaders, the BA Director (to align immediate focus areas and strategic goals), the Strategic Pursuits Team, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Finance, and Talent Acquisition (TA). The role also involves working with key stakeholders and others in the Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) practice area to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation, evolving best practices. Additionally, the Workforce Planning Manager will actively participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives across global resource planning efforts to support alignment and collaboration.
Resource Optimization & Planning
The Workforce Planning Manager will provide insights into the skills and capabilities required to support short-, medium-, and long-term business plans. They will contribute to strategic resourcing decisions and translate business understanding into actionable plans and focus areas for resource planning (RP) and SWP. Through inclusive leadership within the SWP domain, the manager will foster integrated engagement with the Global Excellence Center (GEC). Resource optimization will be achieved by implementing resource leveling across business lines, monitoring supply and demand, and ensuring the efficient deployment of resources.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
The Workforce Planning Manager will ensure data integrity by collecting and cleansing data from multiple sources. They will map the backlog of work to capture what teams are currently working on and what is expected next. Insights on skills and grade mixes will be provided to optimize team size and shape, addressing learning and development needs, skills gaps, and recruitment plans for the next 12 months. The manager will collaborate closely with Business Unit Directors on workload trends, reviewing the impact of the pipeline on delivery capability, and promoting work-sharing and internal mobility through scenario planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
Significant experience in workforce planning, staffing, or national resource management, with prior experience in business partnering roles Ability to manage complex issues and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership teams, using sound judgment and knowledge to make robust resourcing decisions Strong leadership skills, with attention to detail, data accuracy, and a blend of people, data, and operational expertise Confident communicator, skilled at engaging with people at all levels, particularly senior audiences, and building relationships based on mutual trust and confidence Demonstrates integrity, determination, resourcefulness, and purpose to deliver the best results for the business while effectively managing change Future-focused and open-minded, seeking innovative ways to add value and continuously improve business outcomes Uses evidence, insights, and strong relationships to challenge and influence effectively, always maintaining professionalism and integrity Flexible, collaborative, and willing to share knowledge, fostering a team-oriented environmentWhy Arcadis?
